Excellent design! One of the best I’ve seen so far. Looks true to their native habitat. Please look at mine and I know it is no where near anything like a cichlid tank should be but my boyfriend (who knows zero about fish) insisted on the plants. Trying to keep peace! When they rip out the plants he will learn. lol

Yes, that is pool filter sand.
Easy to prep before installation in the tanks, and always looks natural and fresh.
Thanks emerican99, and yes, the cichlids love it and move it around. Often

Yes, aquariums are a fun hobby

The best 90g I have seen! I wish I would have selected a 90 instead of my 75. I wish that I would have used lace rock. I wish I would have used sand instead of gravel.
I guess I am going to upgrade- yes the fun continues!

Awesome
African Cichlids are wonderful to watch, they make for a very active tank.
You already own a cichlid tank, your angelfish tank is LOVELY
|
|
|
We will be setting up a Mbuna tank too, it will be 70g…Can’t wait! Our first cichlid for sure will be the Electric Yellow, we will probablly get 5 of them to start off. Your tank is very nice, great rocks! I have one video of my tanks right now and will be posting the cichlid tank video once it’s up.

I wouldn’t mix anything with them. The african cichlids tend to be aggressive, and they are best kept in harems. One male of each species with several females of the same species. Before you know it, your tank will be overflowing with them. So, best to keep only them in a tank.
I have used danios to cycle my tank, and they have done fine with cichlids after I put them in. They are too fast for the cichlids to attack. But, eventually the danios looked kinda silly in an african setup.
