I have a yellow and with him i have one electric blue and a manigano as well as a silver shark(NOT RECOMMENDED THESE GET HUGE) a bristlenose catfish a cory catfish a ramirez’s dwarf cichlid and a cichlid i dont know the name of lol, all in a 180L tank. As long as you only get one of each species and keep near the lake where yellows originay come from, any cichlid will be fine. Also lots of hiding spots too!! Hope that helped!

Ps I do not recommend putting any other type of fish other then cichlids in your tank as cichlids are agressive and dont really get along, although ive put mollies platties and guppies in the same tank and they were fine (although they can carry diseases as they are cheap fish). I did have a major problem with a ‘rainbow shark’ i had to refund him because he just stirred my whole tank and was attacking my blue and yellow so stear clear of SHARKS. = )

With an electric yellow (yellow labs) I would stick with other African cichlids. I have to labs in a tank with about 18 other Africans and they do fine. I have heard though that they can be kept along with other types of fish and be very peaceful. I have never done this though, I really like just keeping them together with their own kind.
