@manafish1 – to have very pretty oscars, keep them with oscars only in a big tank. also stay away with feeding them goldfish. goldfish have alot of sickness.

i have the same oscars and in this video there the same size as mine now nice tank what size
When this video was taken they were roughly 6-7months old. And are only about half full size. They will grow very fast in the first year then start to slow down around 12inches or so.
how long did it take them to get to full size
I got them both when they were babies and theyve grown up together they are the best of friends. The Red Oscar sometimes picks on the Pleco but he can defend himself and its the Oscar who comes off worse with scratches etc, Im not sure but I may have a M and F. How old are yours? Id expect if you had 2 M Oscars that when they grow up that would lead to odd argument between them…
Also bigger the tank the better.

How did u get them to get along i have 2 and my tiger oscar is fighting my albin o oscar

I used to rear Oscars. But they died when they grew really huge. So now, I only have a small Oscar and I put it with a Barramundi.

Thanks, other fish in the tank are a male Convict and a Pleco, you can see him one of my other videos. Hes grown alot bigger since then, although I can keep nitrates under control technically this tank is overstocked right now so I cant add any more fish. I plan to get them a 225gallon soon and then add some extra fish Im thinking a shoal of Silver Dollars but still undecided.

nice as oscars do you have any other fish in the tank or not??nice fish but!!:):):)

Thanks, actually its called a Lutino Oscar as it does have some black colouring in its tail. They show their best colours when given a good diet. I feed Hikari cichlid Gold as their staple, occasional bloodworm, prawns, any unfortunate fly that gets trapped under the light fixture. Next I will try earthworms as they seem to be big enough to handle them. I dont feed live fish. You have Reds too.

that albine O is beautiful…. awesome colouration!

Thanks mate, those two were my first fish so they are my favourite. I saw your turtles they look like fun! I have a family of convicts too but the regular grey-striped ones not pink like yours.

Beautiful fishes bro… I used to keep oscars before… I’m into flowerhorns now… they’re much more interesting…

Thanks for the comments, The tank is 6ft long. But it is 18inches high and 14inches deep which makes it about 300 litres. Id like to upgrade to a 6ftx2ftx2ft thats a nice size aquarium with plenty of room for the Oscars once they reach full size.
